If there is one Belgian (Brussels) singer who enjoys fame abroad, then it has to be the ‘Grand Jacques’. He lived for a number of years within the pentagon formed by the inner ring, sang at the Ancienne Belgique, amongst other venues, played the Man of la Mancha at the Monnaie theatre, stayed in the Metropole Hotel, bought flowers in the neighbourhood, enjoyed the chips at Chez Eugène and sang about the Place de Brouckere, the Place Sainte-Catherine and the Grand-Place.
This tour can be preceded or followed by a visit to the Brel Foundation (not included in this walk).
